Biogeographic distribution

The IUCN red list states that Montipora digitata is found in Eastern Africa, Madagascar, Seychelles, Mauritius, Chagos Archipelago, northern Maldives, western India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Southeast Asia, Vietnam, southern Japan, Papua New Guinea, southwest to northeast Australia, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Palau, Micronesia, Marshall Islands, and Fiji (IUCN 2012).
